We understand there must be many questions you wish to have answered - after all, if you are not used to the lingo used, it could all be very daunting. Of course, if you do have any questions at all then we encourage you contact us, and we will gladly talk through all of your options with you.

However, we have tried to answer as many of the most common questions as we can think of below. This will help you make better sense of our products and services if you are not sure of the terminologies used.

What are Content Management Systems?: JB and G offer a web based content management system, allowing you more control and flexibility of your website's content. The function of a content management system is to allow you easy online access wherever you are to update your website's content, without any real knowledge of web design practices.
What is Search Engine Optimisation?: Search Engine Optimisation (also known as SEO) is the process of optimising your website so it ranks higher in the natural listings in search engines such as Google, Yahoo and Bing. In laymen's terms, the inclusion of well chosen keywords and phrases will help your website be noticed in the search engines for the user searches you wish to be found in. There are also many other factors involved, down to the coding techniques of the pages, and off-site SEO which builds links from relevant sources into your website.
Do I have to pay anything up front?: We do not charge our clients the full fee up front. However, we do require a deposit of 20% of the quote before work commences to protect all parties involved. The deposit for an e-commerce website is 25%.
What is Standards Compliance?: Website "standards" are governed by the W3C, and they outline the best current working practices for writing code for your website. Whilst it's by no means essential to have a compliant site, it's certainly beneficial, as it will work better across a wider array of browsers, different platforms, and help with accessibility for the sight impaired.
What is E-Commerce?: E-commerce websites allow you to sell your products and/or services online, directly through your own bespoke website. A fully integrated e-commerce solution will allow you full control of all your stock, prices, products and associated categories. An e-commerce website from JB and G will allow you to really expand the potential to reach a massive customer base. With a payment gateway, you can also process all of your payments online.
What is a Payment Gateway?: A payment gateway is a service which allows you to accept payments for products or services online via a third party. Typical payment gateways include RBS Worldpay and Sage Protx.
What is an SSL Security Certificate?: SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificates are required to secure your site to process online payments, and protect your users data. The certificate encrypts data sent (in this instance, credit card information), and another certificate decrypts it when you receive it.
